The Victorian Lady

A picture hangs in the law office that reflects our belief. In it, a stern lady dressed in Victorian-era clothing is holding an olive branch in her extended left hand, but in her right hand is held a raised sword, drawn back and ready. The caption reads, “Law and Peace. Olive branch extended in offerings of peace, she resolutely defends the law.”

Clients are told that this caption is nice and noble, but is not at all what the lady is saying. She is saying, “We can do this easy. Or we can do this hard. But we are going to do this.” You can look at her eyes and tell that she means just that. This picture and the feeling it evokes reflects our approach and belief as well.
