Police in Memphis, Tennessee, believe they caught two men behind a recent double homicide. The two men are now facing murder charges.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder while a 24-year-old man has been charged with attempted first degree murder. The two men were arrested after they were seen by the police running from a vehicle they crashed. The Memphis police were responding to a call about a shooting when they saw the two men.

At the scene of the shooting, the police found a 22-year-old man lying dead in the driveway. A 21-year-old was also found shot and was taken to the hospital. Later, police discovered that yet another man had been shot, a 22-year-old, and that someone had driven him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is important to point out that if any suspects are arrested and accused of murder charges such as first degree murder or attempted first degree murder, there are a number of defenses available to them. Defenses to murder charges generally fall into two major categories. The first defense is that the defendant did not commit the alleged killing and the second is that the defendant did commit the killing, but it was not first degree murder.

If a defendant asserts defenses in the second category, the defendant will admit to killing the victim, but claim that the killing was justified, such as self-defense. Other defenses include arguing that the defendant was incapacitated at the time and is therefore not legally liable. However, a defendant will be required to make a showing of proof when asserting these types of defenses.

Since criminal statutes vary by state, it is important to note that defenses for specific crimes also vary by state. The defenses available to a criminal defendant will most likely depend on the specific facts of the case. An experienced criminal law attorney would be able to assist a criminal defendant in determining which defenses would be available.
