When an individual faces a criminal charge, they could face serious penalties as well as a damaged reputation if convicted. This is especially true for those accused of a sex crime. The details of the charge could impact a person’s personal and professional life. Furthermore, if convicted, a Tennessee resident will have to register as a sex offender. This could create additional hardships, such as locating a home or securing a job.

A Tennessee man’s hearing date is approaching, and he faces two counts of rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery, attempted rape and possession of a weapon by a felon. The man has also been indicted for various charges that occurred in Kentucky. In addition to facing several child abuse charges and sex crimes, the man is also accused of a violation of sex offender registry laws.

A defendant that faces several charges and has a criminal history needs a strong criminal defense against the charges. This could eventually lead to reduced or dropped charges. In some cases, the defendant could pursue a plea bargain in order to reduce the severity of the punishment.

In any criminal case, it is crucial to conduct a full and proper investigation. This might cause evidence to be dismissed. This in turn could lead to reduced or dropped charges. Being aware of individual rights and legal defenses is the first step in establishing a strong defense strategy. This will not only determine what options an arrestee has, but will also allow someone facing charges to evaluate the options and then choose the one that will best serve their interests while also protecting their rights.
