Search on for fake officers in Memphis

On Behalf of | Sep 3, 2013 | Violent Crimes |

Robbery is a crime that society does not tolerate. Violent crimes such as robbery usually result in stiff penalties that include jail time because of society’s intolerance of such actions.

Memphis police are searching for two men who impersonated Memphis police officers and robbed another man. While walking home, the victim was stopped by the two men driving a Dodge Charger. The two men reportedly were wearing black t-shirts with the word “police” written across the front. They also allegedly had guns in a holster and a pair of handcuffs. The alleged robbers told the victim that they stopped him because he looked suspicious. The victim said they took $80 from him, patted him down and then left.

For those accused of violent crimes such as robbery they may feel like the whole world is against them. The media always focuses on the victim and often does not take into account any story that the accused may have. Because violent crimes carry such a high penalty, it is very important for the accused to be able to tell his or her side of the story. A strong defense will involve a thorough investigation of the crime, independent experts in forensics and other legal matters, and the construction of a strategy designed to minimize the adverse consequences of a criminal conviction. Because a person who is charged with violent crimes can suffer serious legal consequences such as high fines and jail time, it is important for him or her to know his or her rights.
