With Halloween coming this weekend convicted sex offenders in Tennessee are being singled out for heightened scrutiny by law enforcement authorities. A sex crimes conviction can seriously affect a person’s personal life and the Halloween season is no exception.
The Tennessee Department of Corrections has released restrictions for sex offenders for October 31. These restrictions include that the offenders must remain in their homes from 6pm to 6am, must not turn their porch lights on, must not open their doors for trick or treaters, cannot put up decorations, and cannot wear a costume or disguise. This is all part of Operation Blackout where law enforcement will be doing compliance checks on convicted sex offenders from Oct. 22 to Oct. 31.
