On August 12, a man allegedly went on a crime spree that included a car jacking and several robberies. The crime spree started that morning in a drug store parking lot on the corner of East McLemore and South Bellevue Boulevard. Police allege the man took a woman's Toyota Camry from the parking lot after pointing a gun at the car's owner. Around 30 minutes later the man allegedly robbed a person at the Target on Poplar Avenue. He then allegedly robbed a check cashing store on Winchester Road approximately 30 minutes later. Around 12:15 the suspect allegedly robbed another check cashing store at Austin Peay Highway. Law enforcement found the car about a mile and half away and arrested the suspect around 1 pm. The suspect was charged with aggravated robbery and was being held on a $150,000 bond.
